Since 2006, Les Douches la Galerie in Paris has been dedicated to both historical and contemporary photography, with a particular focus on documentary photography, formal experimentation, and contemporary artistic practices that challenge the boundaries of the medium. As the exclusive representative in France of the estates of Berenice Abbott, Arlene Gottfried, Ernst Haas, Vivian Maier, and Ray K. Metzker, Les Douches la Galerie also supports living artists, such as Roger Ballen, in gaining recognition for their work both in France and internationally. Additionally, works by internationally renowned photographers like Robert Frank, Louis Faurer, Leon Levinstein, August Sander, Erwin Blumenfeld, Man Ray, André Steiner, Romain Urhausen, and Dieter Appelt have frequently been showcased in both group and solo exhibitions. Through more than sixty solo and group exhibitions and a collection of over 3,000 photographs, Les Douches la Galerie offers a wide selection of works from the early 20th century to today, with a constant emphasis on the quality of prints. Committed to promoting the artists and estates it represents, the gallery works with both museums and private collectors—whether seasoned or new—to help build their collections. A member of AIPAD (Association of International Photography Art Dealers), Les Douches la Galerie participates in international art fairs such as Paris Photo, Art Cologne, and AIPAD in New York.
