Each Modern

Each Modern is one of the most influential and provocative galleries in Asia. The founder, Huang Yaji has been working as a critic and curator for a decade and developed profound insight of Asian art ecosystem. She established Each Modern in 2018, and committed to promoting Asian postwar and contemporary art by redefining Asian artists with enhanced value while bridging new international artists. In November 2023, the gallery moved to the current space in Taipei business district. Rediscovering and exhibiting the value of artists in art history is one of the gallery’s greatest achievements in first three years.Meanwhile, the gallery succeeded in directing more attention of young generations to Asian postwar arts, guiding them to embrace contemporary art. Key gallery programs cover prominent artists including the hyperrealism artist Hilo Chen, the first avant-garde artist Li YuanChia, important post-war Taiwan artist Chen TingShih, the iconic “Provoke” photographers Nakahira Takuma and Moriyama Daido, Japan female photographer Ishiuchi Miyako, key member of Mono-ha Suga Kishio, and Taiwanese post-war photographer Teng NanKuang. Each Modern also represents other generation artists from various regions. Since 2022, the gallery invites multiple international artists into the program to raise their Asia profile. Each Modern believes the arts lead the value and drive the future.
